Why we vote NO at the Special Election in June?
We urge you to join us in spreading the word about the potential
upcoming Special Election in June. This election comes with an approximate $30,000 price tag -
another significant cost to our town. However, we want to ensure that every resident is able to fully digest the budget information, the tax override implications prior to a vote, and that our democratic process remains strong.
On April 12 Jamie Hellen, our Town Administrator, released the
budget forecast for 2025. While this is an important step,
it's essential to remember that the final budget allocations will be determined by the Franklin Town Council during the
final budget hearings in late May. The override amount specified in the ballot question is legally binding for the initial year, but
subsequent budget allocations will be subject to change depending on the Town Council's approval for following years.
